Biography
Gillian Wynn-Lawson is an experimental photo based artist creating in Toronto, Ontario. She utilizes a variety of photographic technics to create bodies of work. At the core of her creative practice is a yearning for self exploration and growth. Gillian views her artistry as the most fundamental tool in understanding existence and processing the complexity of emotions that come along with it.
She is currently balancing her creative endeavours with an equal passion for portraiture. After completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts at OCAD University, Gillian has broadened her definitions of photography and bridged her performative background with her passion for image making. She operates a private loft photo studio in collaboration with her partner Porfirio J Segovia.

Artist Statement
Gillian views her practice as the most crucial part of understanding herself, her experiences, and her place among others. She explores grief and loss, familial and romantic relationships, as well as growth and identity all with an underlying tone of self discovery. Her methods include a mixture of digital and analog photography, performance and installation, as well as historical and camera-less methods of image making.
